the region biel-seeland (3-lake area) is an ideal place for a longer or shorter stop off the beaten tracks. the 3 lakes, lake biel-bienne, lake neuchâtel and lake murten, offers perfect conditions for all kind of watersports and shipcruises.
The jura mountains offers, for hiking in summer or cross country ski (and alpine ski) in winter, a big variety of trails in all levels of difficulties. there are, for exampl: the climbing of the chasseral (1607m). the vineyard hike along lake biel to erlach and st. peters island. magglingen - twannberg - gorge of twann - twann. bözingenberg - taubenloch gorge and other wonderful one day hikes with good transport possibilities on either end of the trails.
